We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Trainee Yard Officials. Successful candidates will undergo comprehensive modular training (theory and practical) to become certified professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
– Complete theoretical & practical training programs within set timelines
– Learn to operate equipment and manage yard operations safely
– Maintain accurate training records/portfolio of evidence
– Achieve competency in assigned tasks per company standards
– Execute work assignments aligned with organizational goals
Requirements:
– Grade 12 certificate (mandatory)
– Pass medical, vision, hearing, and psychological assessments
– Physical fitness for operational demands
– Basic computer literacy
– Willingness to work shifts and handle hazardous materials
Critical Competencies:
Knowledge: Shunting procedures, railway safety regulations, hazard management
Skills: Problem-solving, communication, data recording, conflict resolution
Attributes: Detail-oriented, safety-focused, adaptable to independent work
Training Outcome:
Certification in Yard Operations including:
– Radio train order systems
– High-voltage safety protocols
– Hazardous materials handling
– Rail network geography
