About the Role
Join our team as a Canteen Assistant to maintain high standards of cleanliness, food service, and customer satisfaction. This role combines food preparation, hygiene management, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare salads, desserts, and assist with meal setups.
- Keep serving areas stocked, clean, and organized.
- Follow health, safety, and food quality regulations.
- Store leftovers safely and manage inventory records.
- Clean tables, kitchens, and work areas regularly.
- Support new staff training and shift handovers.
- Address customer inquiries and feedback promptly.
- Attend required training sessions and team meetings.
Skills and Competencies
- Reliable with strong attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Comfortable standing, lifting, and bending for extended periods
- Physically fit to work 45-50 hours/week
- No skin allergies to food or cleaning products
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18 years
- National Senior Certificate (or equivalent)
