Retail Security Officer
About the Role:
Ensure safety and security for staff, customers, and store premises through proactive monitoring and emergency response. Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft and create a welcoming shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor CCTV systems and conduct regular store patrols
- Prevent theft and handle shoplifting incidents appropriately
- Respond to emergencies including medical situations and conflicts
- Control access to restricted areas and verify visitor credentials
- Maintain detailed incident reports and security documentation
- Assist customers while maintaining professional conduct
- Operate and maintain security equipment effectively
- Enforce company safety policies and security protocols
Requirements:
- Valid PSIRA Grade C registration
- Grade 10 certificate (minimum)
- Strong English communication skills
- Knowledge of search procedures and security operations
- Professional appearance and local residency
- Physical stamina for extended standing/walking
- Security experience preferred
Work Conditions:
Retail environment with variable temperatures. Requires flexibility for weekends/holidays and emergency response readiness.
