About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role requires a focus on hygiene, efficiency, and teamwork to maintain high service standards in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Assist in meal preparation, including salads, desserts, and food plating.
- Manage serving lines: restock items, ensure cleanliness, and monitor food presentation.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dining tables, and work areas daily.
- Store leftovers properly and maintain accurate stock records.
- Address customer inquiries and feedback promptly.
- Support training for new team members.
- Complete shift handover procedures and stock audits.
- Perform additional tasks as required by management.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and methodical work ethic.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physical stamina to work 45-50 hours/week (standing, bending, lifting).
- No skin allergies to common kitchen products or foods.
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent.
