Job Title: Canteen Assistant
About the Role:
Join our team as a Canteen Assistant and play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food service, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards per company and legal requirements
- Prepare food items including salads, desserts, and entrees
- Keep serving areas stocked, organized, and clean throughout service
- Clean and sanitize dining tables, kitchen areas, and equipment
- Monitor food stock levels and document leftovers
- Assist in training new team members
- Address customer inquiries and feedback promptly
- Follow all health, safety, and food handling regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum National Senior Certificate
- 18+ years of age
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift items, and perform repetitive tasks
- Availability to work 45-50 hours per week
- No allergies to food products or cleaning agents
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management
- Maintains high personal hygiene standards
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Experience in food service (preferred but not required)
