About the Role
We seek a motivated biotechnology student to join our team as a Laboratory Intern. This hands-on role offers practical experience in a working lab environment while fulfilling academic requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare samples for standard laboratory tests
- Manage safe sample storage and disposal procedures
- Maintain lab cleanliness and equipment sterilization
- Support testing turnaround times and report delays proactively
- Perform equipment maintenance and inventory management
- Follow all safety protocols (OHS) and quality standards
- Use PPE and adhere to chemical safety guidelines (MSDS)
- Participate in process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Current enrollment in National Diploma (Biotechnology program)
- All theory components completed
- Requires 6-12 months practical experience to graduate
- Laboratory experience preferred
- Strong commitment to safety protocols
Contract Duration: 1-2 Years
Employment Type: Full-time Contract
Remuneration: Market Related
Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups in accordance with Employment Equity objectives.
