Kitchen Assistant
About the Role:
Join our team to maintain high standards of cleanliness, food service, and customer satisfaction in a dynamic workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain strict hygiene and safety standards per company and legal requirements
- Prepare salads, desserts, and assist with meal preparation
- Stock and maintain clean serving areas throughout service
- Clean and sanitize dining tables, kitchen surfaces, and workstations
- Manage food leftovers including proper storage and documentation
- Support team members and assist in training new staff
- Address customer needs and resolve concerns promptly
- Complete shift handover procedures including inventory management
- Attend required training sessions and team meetings
Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Availability to work 45-50 hours per week
Key Skills:
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
- Attention to food safety and hygiene practices
Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
- Able to lift/move supplies (up to 15kg)
- No allergies to common food items or cleaning agents
